Maria + Matt, 21/04/2013 A huge thank you for creating the beautiful flowers for our wedding. I knew they'd be stunning and they proved to be a real talking point. Everyone loved the purple/teal combination and many people were surprised they weren’t real! My mum had been sceptical about artificial flowers, but was so impressed! It’s lovely that we're able to keep our flowers. The women in our families were delighted with the fishbowls and I'm so pleased I get to keep my bouquet. Our flower girl is still playing with her wand! Hi Mara, When I received the flowers they were so nice that I had to order another bouquet for the toss. I didn't want to throw mines, I wanted to keep it! The sun was shining in Barbados and everyone was really excited. It was really great! Here are some pictures of the wedding party and a picture of me walking with my dad towards the aisle. Dear Mara, Just a sneak peek photo for you of your handiwork in action. We had a disaster in that the night before the wedding the florist providing the button holes and top table decoration delivered a box of completely dead flowers (that me and my parents had to replace ourselves!) so words cannot describe how happy and relieved I was that I knew I had my beautiful bouquets! Sorry I haven’t been in contact since we got back from Florida but our wedding was perfect! A few photos are on our photographer’s blog if you would like to see.
Our girls had their bouquets, and I think Ruby’s flower girl wand is in there, but we are still waiting for our photos of the UK Reception where Scott and I had our silk floral too, will forward to you as soon as we get them.

I am so glad we had silk floral, as we have decided to have a trash the dress photography shoot in April when we go back so we can use them there too. Also they look fab on display at home and remind us of our perfect day!

Lucy + Toby, 26/01/2013 I just wanted to thank you for the roaring success my bouquet was at our wedding last weekend. With Christmas, family illnesses and the snow, I didn't get it from the box until about 30mins before I left for the wedding. It looked perfect with all of the accessories and I fell in love with it! It looks amazing on the photos! By the evening, the compliments came and a friend who is a trainee florist said she hadn't even guessed. I had kept it top secret as wanted to test it out and I think the effect worked. |

Hi Mara, and all at Silk Blooms! Finally got round to writing this email just to say a big THANK YOU to all of you there who made our beautiful silk flowers. Not sure if you have a space for reviews on your website but wanted to write a few words. We got lots of comments about our flowers, and how realistic and pretty they are, and the best thing is I get to keep them and admire them for years to come. The service I received was second to none. Most communication was by emails, which were always responded to quickly and efficiently. The paying in instalments facility online was very useful, and you exceeded my expectations as to what I wanted with regards to colours and flowers and shapes and even throwing in last minute flower hair clips for bridesmaids wasn't a problem. All arrived in plenty of time for the wedding all carefully packaged. The value for money was very good too. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Silk Blooms to anyone, and I wish you every luck and success in your business in the future. I have attached one of our pics form our photographer, we are waiting for the rest but have had a few as a taster. Once we get them back I will send on any others which I think you may like. Artificial flowers were a great solution for me so that I could choose exactly what I wanted and take them with me. I didn't fall in love with any of the flowers from the gallery so Mara designed my own personal bouquet to match my specific wishes. The lovely thing is now I get to keep them forever! Hi, You very kindly made the beautiful flowers for my daughter Kimberley's wedding on August 26th. She had the Kara bouquet and matching buttonholes for the men. A bit unusual, but she had 'Brides men' not 'Bridesmaids' as she wanted to have her brother and her best friend who is a boy. We felt the buttonholes looked fantastic on them with Dad, Best man and myself matching too. You also made a lovely matching centrepiece for the table which was used both during the ceremony and on the top table during the meal. I just want to say a HUGE thank you the flowers were absolutely beautiful. Exactly what Kimberley wanted. They were commented on at the wedding and also people who have viewed the photos have commented on the beautiful flowers. Hi Mara, That was so sweet of you to email me beforehand - thank you so much :) The day went better than I could ever have imagined. We were seriously lucky with the weather, especially being in Wales and it having rained for what seemed like months beforehand! I did also have great pleasure in telling people (after leading them on all day) the flowers were in fact artificial. After a lot of poking, feeling and staring, people believed me but they were a little shocked. We could have fooled them if I hadn't been dying to tell them you made them! Thanks for providing us with such beautiful flowers. The table decoration is now taking pride of place on our mantelpiece so it's a reminder of our day whenever we're in the room. Chimene + Kolo Toure, 16/06/2012 Manchester City's Kolo Toure with Chimčne Akassou in their Ivory Coast wedding ceremony with distinguished personalities from the world of politics and sports. A grand reception was held over the weekend, with most of the Ivory Coast national team players in attendance. Kolo's brother and club mate and African Footballer of the Year Yaya Toure was the best man. It was an honour to create their flowers for them.

I've included a few photo's of our special day which show how well the bouquets and buttonholes fitted in and lasted. I had thought about selling on the bouquets, but I've given the Bridesmaids theirs as a gift to remember the day and my gorgeous spray is now hanging pride of place in my dressing room! The service was beyond excellent. I had no idea really what I wanted, and had visited many florists which confused me even more. When I called, I stated the colour scheme; theme; and my favourite flowers. I never knew the creativity behind such a service - all included in the price! Little touches like using the same colour ribbon for the Mother's corsages, wrapping the handles in my chosen fabric and colour - hessian! - and adding strong magnets instead of pins really impressed me. In fact, they impressed everybody. My photographer is keen to suggest your business to her brides - she was concerned that I hadn't placed the Bridesmaid bouquets in water! Saturday was absolutely amazing, the weather was perfect, my nerves held out and we had the most beautiful humanist ceremony with friends doing readings and one singing for everyone. We then had an ice-cream van, highland games, a caricaturist and into the tipi for a buffet and prize giving (for the games) before the most fantastic band arrived. Being such a small wedding (just the two of us and our mums) I wasn't going to bother with flowers, I thought it was a lot of expense for something that was going to die and be thrown away at the end of the day, then a friend suggested artificial flowers and the search began. I found you through an internet search and I was sold straightaway, the prices were really reasonable, so much so that I ended up buying three buttonholes as well as a bouquet! Although the colours weren't right first time, Silk Blooms were great in offering to change them to make sure I was happy and still got them to me in time for the big day.
Lots of people have

Maggie, 16/03/2011 I haven't been in touch since I got married, but here's a picture of my grand daughter wearing the head dress you made. We managed to bribe her with a necklace and some lip gloss (to wear it, for the photo's at least). We all thought it was a beautiful head dress and she looked lovely. I have sent the pictures in case you wanted to use the head dress in your advertising. I will save the head dress for when my daughter gets married, she caught my bouquet, so I feel there may be another wedding in the wind. I'm now going to look at your household flower arrangements. Lynn, 27/07/2010 Hi Mara, I just got back from holidays on Saturday and wanted to let you know that everything went beautifully at the wedding. We all had a lovely time and the weather was perfect. My corsage was admired by nearly every guest (including some of the men) and I passed your web address on to a lot of the ladies. I've attached some photos to let you see how well it went with my outfit. I'm going to Ladies Day at Ayr races in September and I'm wearing the same outfit with the corsage as I love it so much. We felt at ease, and after a couple of conversations about style of flowers, we knew we were in good hands and we weren't wrong. There are enough things to worry about when planning a wedding, and to know that this wasn't one of them was priceless. We had a lovely, sunny day and the flowers looked really nice, they really helped to capture the essence of the day – the atmosphere, and the love and laughter – no mean feat. Everyone, without exception, was extremely impressed – and we would recommend Silk Blooms to anyone. In fact a couple of people have already taken their number! In summary – a great florist, and a really friendly company to deal with. |
